It feels good to bounce back after a break, with new ideas and renewed energy.
German has always been like a song, which I keep humming in my mind and heart. I have never ceased the learning process. This doesn’t mean I sit with books, which honestly speaking, I would like to revisit, but in the moment learning happens more through expression and listening. In short – through practical methods. These are fun as well as knowledge-filled.
Our subconscious mind plays an important role here. It is the state when we are not aware of our surroundings. And at this point it absorbs whatever hits it. Narrowing it down to language learning, it will do miracles in your learning if you expose it to the language you are learning. Listening to songs, podcasts, audio recordings while you are asleep, shall be imprinted in your mind. This blueprint helps you to initialise conversation, in a way you wouldn’t have had imagined. It goes beyond what you have learnt in books or through any other medium. The power of the subconscious mind can never be underestimated.
Make this a part of your language learning and you will be pleasantly surprised with your hidden skills.
It can be fun and challenging at the same time, to compose some piece of song or a text, a couplet or any artwork from a language you have been learning. Certainly it will force you to dig deep in your creative self and the compilations then designed would be masterpieces.
Playing around with language is the best way to decipher it. Thinking out of the box is equally applicable during language learning and of course something I keep reiterating – “You are the only person who can motivate yourself”.
Let a new language redefine your personality.
